Compressing Annotated PDF Files

Post by JNewhouse » Tue Sep 18, 2012 5:24 am

We are trying to implement annotations using the Annotations plug in, but find that it creates very large files when burning the annotations to the page (we have to burn). We started looking at the jbig2 compression plug in, but don't see a difference in file size.

Can you provide sample code or even pseudeo code that will help to figure this out?

To be clear, we don't need a full application sample, assume the following:
user loads a PDF file.
user uses the highlighter to highlight text on the page
user clicks the Burn button.

can you provde sample code for our Burn button that will compress the resulting pdf file using the jbig2 compression plugin?

You can find some examples related to JBIG2 compression here:
Converting a multipage TIFF file to a multipage JBIG2 file
Using JBIG2 compression when converting TIFF images to PDF documents
Let us know if you are experiencing any issues with the current release or you need further assistance.
Kind regards,
