Re: Create PDF from multipage-Tiff and write it to a stream

Thank you, that helped a lot! I have another question regarding this issue. What's the difference between CreateGdPictureImageFromFile and TiffCreateMultiPageFromFile ? As I found out the time of creation for the first one is much faster. But why should I use the special tiff-function? Best regards ...

Create PDF from multipage-Tiff and write it to a stream

Hello, I have another problem to solve. ;) There's a need in our project to load a multipage-Tiff and create a multipage PDF-document not only to file but also to stream for further use in another component. I only see two possibilities to implement this: 1. Using the PdfCreateFromMultipageTIFF , st...

Re: PDFReader - creating thumbnails performance problems

Hello, thanks for looking at my code. I have tested the code again (now it's adapted to v 8) and the critical time consuming part is clearly the method for converting to thumbnail: Dim thumbId As Integer = pdfManaging.GetPageThumbnail(32, 32, color.White ) I have shared the workflow into 3 parts to ...

Splitting PDF documents

Hello, is there any chance to get particular pages of a loaded pdf document in a memorystream or at least in a file. The documentation mentions "...PDF creation, PDF edition, split , merge, compress..." and I can't find a functionallity like this. In our implementation we need to merge single pages ...

Re: Problems with the saving of some pdf files to a stream (

Thank you for the fast help. Here's the relevant code snippet: pdfManaging.LoadFromFile("[filepath]", True) Dim mem As New System.IO.MemoryStream() pdfManaging.SaveToStream(mem) Dim fmem As System.IO.FileStream fmem = New System.IO.FileStream("[filepath]", IO.FileMode.Create) mem.Position = 0 For i ...

Re: Problems with the saving of some pdf files to a stream (

Update: I have now found out a strange behaviour. The reading problem only regards the version of Adobe Acrobat Reader I'm using (8.1.2). I can open the document with your sample document viewer as well as with Acrobat Reader X and Adobe Reader V.9. The original file is readable everywhere. Do you h...

Problems with the saving of some pdf files to a stream (V.8)

Hello, I'm testing your new V8 right now and was so happy about the implementation of these new pdf native manipulation functions. After trying some pfd documents I've found out a problem with the saving. With the SaveToFile-method some files (e.g. GdPicture.NET8.pdf) are not readable. The usage of ...

Re: Fast allocation of pdf pages to a stream

Sorry for not being clearly enough with my explanation. I need your component to get a pdf stream from a pdf file. This stream I will need in another component. The only way to get data out of the loaded file is the PdfReaderRenderPageToGdPictureImage function as it seems. This will lead to a pictur...

Fast allocation of pdf pages to a stream

Hello, I need to supply pages of a loaded pdf document to a stream for working with it in another component. It's important that this stream contains the pdf data and not some kind of image format. So far I have found out only one solution for this requirement: Public Sub SetPreview(ByVal page As PD...

Is this function still unavailable?
If so...is there any workaround to implement it in your gdviewer or the .net picture box control?

Re: Update thumbnail after change to source document

I found that using a listview, creating the thumbnail and setting the image in the image collection = to the new thumbnail did the trick. The listview displayed the newly created thumbnail upon the update to the collection. This is the same approach I'm using in our project. Though as mentioned in ...
