Re: Twain to PDF vs PDF/A

Hi Loic,

That looks like a more direct workaround, I'll give it a try.
Do you think you could implement a "show/noshow" PDF/A compatibility flag directly inside the twain methods of the toolkit?

Many thanks for your help.
Regards.
Chris.

Re: Twain to PDF vs PDF/A

Hey Tom,
Excellent suggestion, even though speed of the whole process is obviously affected by the duplicate effort, I'll give it a try.
Thanks.

Re: Twain to PDF vs PDF/A

Could you provide a sample code to do this or perhaps just add a flag within the toolkit that would make this option possible? I guess it could be useful for several other customers of yours.

Thank you.

Re: Twain to PDF vs PDF/A

Hi Loic, It is not a matter of whether it takes more space or not, it is a matter of being able to choose, me as a developer and ultimately my end-users. I don't think imposing anything - albeit the PDF/A a certified format - is a good strategy... so please advise on how can I create a non PDF/A fil...

Twain to PDF vs PDF/A

I’m using the TwainPdfStart / CreateImageFromTwain() / TwainAddGdPictureImageToPdf ()… / TwainPDFStop() sequence and all works very well except for the fact that I always get a PDF/A file when I open the file in Acrobat Reader. I’ve tried Switching to TwainPdfStartEx but stil the same. How can I cre...

Re: Scan in the background?

Hi Loic,

Thanks for the answer.
I forgot to mention that I am evaluating the library to work under Delphi 6 Pro (it is quite an old version now but it keeps doing the job!), so I think the proxy solution doesn't apply here.

Scan in the background?

Hi.
Are you considering the implementation of a thread-based scanning process, so that users can keep doing other task while scans are being fed?

Thanks.

Re: GdPicture Pro Imaging SDK to GdPicture.NET

I am considering the update of our existing delphi code to gdPicture (ocx version) as an immediate solution to correct a couple of problems arising from the use of another library. Meanwhile, we will also start to code the new major version in C#.NET, so we will need the .NET version as well in a co...

Re: Descreening filter?

Descreening is also known as removing the moiré patterns from scans originated from newspapers and magazines. I am currently evaluating your product and, together with having the scan being executed in its own thread, the descreening function is a major requirement for which I would immediately purc...

Re: TWAIN: scan in the background

You will need to run the scan function within a separate thread.

Loic, perhaps this could be implemented directly in the library and added an "InTheBackground" boolean parameter could be added?

Cheers.
