Incorrect setting of Brightness/Contrast

Postby docent » Mon Oct 31, 2011 12:08 pm

Hello!

As a potential customer of your software I have a question concerning setting Brightness or Contrast of an image. While testing your Csharp-Image Processing sample I have noticed an incorrect behavior when changing brightness or contrast of an image. For example if I increase brightness by some value and then want to change it back I expect to see as the same image as before increasing. However the image becomes more darker than it was at the beginning. Moreover, I can get an absolute black image (like Malevich's "Black square") if I increase brightness few times and then decrease it few times. The Contrast has the same behavior as brightness. Maybe I need to convert an image to some other format or something else to achieve a correct behavior?

Looking forward for your reply,

Hi,

You have to use 1-length stack method to do that. We provide such example in the demo called "Adjusting Gamma - Brightness - Contrast & Saturation".
Basically you have to use cloneGdPictureImage method.

Let me know if you need further information.

Kind regards,
