Greetings:

Using the sample application that comes with the GdViewer, the viewing area always has a black background upon loading of the image regardless of how you set the control.

If the image were to fit exactly in the control, then its fine because there is no background exposed, however, if you want the image to fit the control via one axis, then there will be a black background exposed in the other axis.

QUESTION:

How can I change this behavior to create either a white or transparent background that will remain in effect even after the image is loaded ?

Please advise.

Symply using the BackColor propertie:

I was able to change the background through procedural code within the sample application and it worked correctly.

The problem for me appears to be because the control is being used within a report writer (Data Dynamics Active Reports 2.0).

If I set the background to Opaque, then the image does not show. Only the background shows. It is as if the image is behind the background.

I can only use the Transparent Mode in order to see the image; and then there are the black bars between the image and the remaining display area of the control.

Perhaps these black bars are un-related to the background.

Any ideas how I can get rid of the black bars ?

Hi murdock,

Your problem is due to the fact that Data Dynamics Active Reports 2.0 doesn't seems to accept object using AutoRedraw graphic output.

However into the next release I will add a ForcePictureMode property. I think that using this mode the Data Dynamics Active Reports Toolkit will be able to display a GdViewer object with an opaque back style mode.
