GDViewer returns error 30 occasionally on document print

While trying to print the same 3 page PDF file, I am experiencing occasional (maybe 30% of the time) failures with printing past the 1st page of the document. Working through the debug we're getting:

Printing status: VT_I4{30}

The status we've translated back to mean:
PrinterPdfRenderingPageError

But I'm stumped as to why this would happen only sometimes, using the exact same PDF and use case? Maybe a ? I'm using 4.11.0.2...

Edit: Additional info...
This is observed (sporadically) with both local and network printers, and with both Windows XP and Vista operating systems. I'm also trying to troubleshoot a long delay between printing pages and I'm wondering if there might be a rendering tolerance which we are passing, for some reason whereby the render of pages past page one are taking either a long time, or a long time and passing a threshold where GdV indicates a page rendering error and just bails on the attempt?
