GDViewer displaying Images process is quite slow

Dear, Support Center.

I'm a programmer using the newest GDPicturePro5 version . I found a little problem when images are being loaded by the GDViewer component in my application: why the interval between switched images, in each image has to take too much time for opening. This performance is very poor comparing with other tools(ex:Kodak) viewer component and it's hard for users accept in that. Is it normal? Or Have any ways, source or properties to set it and increase the images displaying performances? Thank's a lot.

Hi,

Here some tips:

- Set the ViewerQualityAuto property to True.
- Set the zoom to 100%
- If you are loading the image using the Imaging class call TiffOpenMultiPageAsReadOnly(True)

I am co-worker of Elexan Chang, and try to provide more information for this issue. Please take a look at our testing result below. We found the loading time of GDPicture component, for any image files, is quite slow compared to program using Kodak component. And this is very important to us. We are requested by our customers to improve the performance.

We are working on a improved version of the viewer to increase rendering time & loading time especially for JPEG images.

If you can send me some image files you used for your bench (images taking larger loading time) this can help us. You can send the image at esupport (at) gdpicture (dot) com.
