different bitmap depth

I have for the time beeing 2 different types of bmp files.
- using rgb 8bit-chanal (according to adobe photoshop)
- using indexed colors 8bit-chanals (according to adobe photoshop)

When loading various bitmaps using:
gdpicturestatus = GdViewer1.DisplayFromFile(FullFilename)
i get gdpicturestatus=0 for both images, but the rgb-image shows wrong
what am i doing wrong?

Hi,

Maybe your image have ICC profile ? In this case you can loading the bitmap applying the profile using the DisplayFromFileICM() method.

You are right, so i changed it to DisplayFromFileICM.

Both type of bmp-images are now shown correctly.

does this mean that i skould always use DisplayFromFileICM?
if not , how do i find out when to use what?

Hi Eric,

This is not really a problem about icc profile.
The problem come from GdPicture and will be fixed into the next release. Please wait 1 day to get it. You don't have to use the DisplayFromFileICM() function.

However, I can't see any problem with the indexed bitmap, only with the 32bpp (but now solved).
