Vista Compatibility

Postby jeetv » Tue Nov 04, 2008 2:19 am

Hi,

I was wondering if the GdTwain ActiveX component is fully compatible with Vista....I am not too familiar with all the details but it seems Vista requires "signed" versions of third-party components. We had a nasty surprise earlier with a component that we were using but for which the manufacturer refused to provide a "signed" version (he didn't want to be forced to pay Microsoft:) So we were left scrambling for an alternative for our Vista clients.

I want to confirm that you do/will provide a version of GdTwain that satisfies all of the requirements that Vista may dictate.

Thanks.

Hi,

1- All our components are 100% tested (and developped) under windows Vista.
2 - All our components are digitally signed.
3 - all our components are distributed with and independent version marked as Safe Initialization and Scripting (useful for web applications only).

PS: there is anything to pay to Microsoft to sign products. Only acquire a digital certificate from a Certificate Authority and use it ;)
