Problem going from demo to purchased control

Postby jdonnola » Thu Jul 10, 2008 2:57 am

I had been using the demo in our web application (c# .net - visual studio 2008). I purchased and installed the activex control but now get an "object doesn't support this object or method". This error (during javascript execution) appears to be happening on the TwainAcquireToImageID method.

Please help.

Thanks!

Well, it seems there were some method name changes between the demo version and the downloaded version - yes I did get around to reading the documentation. I find the claim of "6-12 hours" for response a bit concerning as an original post I had back at the beginning of this year was never answered nor was my current post. I might have expected at least a "why do't you read the docs" reply. The product does work as advertised but I don't like working without a net. Any response??

HI,

You probably tested the GdTwain 1.X edition and purchased the 2.X edition.

Few methods has been deprecated or renamed and lot of features had been added from the 1.X to the 2.X edition.

In your case, you have to use the TwainAcquireToGdPictureImage() method instead the TwainAcquireToImageID()

Best regards,
