Is PDF/A native from TWAIN 2.0 drivers?

Postby cjmt » Wed Jan 07, 2009 9:55 pm

Hi.
I've noticed that you have announced support for TWAIN 2.0. This is wonderful news for me because I am in a development project which requires PDF/A compliant PDF from scanned pages. Does the PDF/A compliance ability is coded in the library itself (meaning that it is capable of generating PDF/A compliant files from TWAIN 1.9 devices) or does it come from the device being compatible with the TWAIN 2.0 version?

HI,

All GdPicture components are able to produce 100% compliant PDF/A from any image.
This means that you can produce PDF/A from image acquired from all TWAIN drivers.

I give you the method which produce PDF/A in GdTwain [Pro]:

- TwainPdfOCRStartEx()
- TwainPdfStartEx()
- SaveAsPDFAEx()

Merci Loic for the prompt response! ;)
BTW, the methods indicate that a PDF/A compliant image is also a searchable one? I'm still in the process of learning the PDF/A details. Thanks.

Regards.

De rien ;)

Creating searchable PDF/A from image is possible using the optional GdPicture Tesseract plugin.
You can find an example within the doc: http://guides.gdpicture.com/v5/gdtwain/ ... artEx.html
