Getting started

Postby steve888 » Wed Oct 14, 2009 9:55 pm

I just downloaded your trial version and I have the 30 day license key. I am trying to see if I can copy the sample code you have in your VB6 sample app and use it in an Access 2007 app. I have installed the GDTwain Pro 2 reference. When I try to open a form I get the error message Run-time error '424': Object required. It happens on the first line of code when opening the form:

Twain1.SetLicenseNumber ("...key code is here...")

Am I leaving anything out?

Do you have any samples specifically for Microsoft Access?

Thank you,
Steve

Hi Steve,

MS Access affects a strange name to ActiveX Object. When vb6, Delphi, RealBassic and lot of other RAD environment will name Twain object as Twain1, Twain2... MS ACCESS do something else.

Therefore, you have to right clock on the drawn TWAIN object to get its name into the properties. And replace Twain1. by [ObjectName from properties].

I hope I was clear enough.

Kind regards,
