Adding a new scan to an Existing PDF document

Postby janm » Sat Oct 25, 2008 10:29 pm

Hi

I've only recently started using GDTwain in my application. So forgive me if this question has already been answered elsewhere
I have a user who uses my application to scan a Multi page document to PDF (TWAIN). It all works beautifully!!
But, at a later date, if the user wants to add another SHEET to the already previously created PDF, how can he do it?
Can I open an existing PDF with gdTwain and allow the user to add another page to it? if so, how? (I'm using VB6)
The original PDF was created with gdTwain

Any help will be very welcome

Many thanks

Jan

Hey Loic,

I am also looking to do this with a TIFF file. I create the tif, add pages to it and close it. Then later, I'd like to add more pages to the same tif I created earlier. Is there a way to do this?

Thanks,

Derek

Hi,

You can do that only using GdPicture Pro Imaging SDK: adding-new-scan-existing-pdf-document-t1044.html

I downloaded the sample for merging two PDF's together and of course it worked. The question I have is the new size is much larger, more than double the size of the two pdfs individually. Is there something I am missing on compression?

PDF1 = 172k and PDF2 = 31k the resulting NewPdf = 1.4mb.

Thanks for any help

Hi,

Each page of the PDF are converted into bitmap (rasterization). This is the reason of the bigger size of the resulting PDF.

Kind regards,
