Reading value of a checkbox

I have a document with a checkbox on it. Is there a way with the OCR engine to determine if the user placed a mark in the checkbox?

Yes this is possible. But it is OMR, not OCR. Just have a look on the OMR methods. We also provide a demo application within the package that helps to determine is a checkbox is filled or not. See: OMR.exe
