Question/Issue with TWAIN Application

I have an issue that I am running into with my application using the GDTwain functionality from Citrix. The test application works perfectly when I have the application running from the Desktop within my Citrix session. The application acquires the list of scanners on my pc and connects then scans no problem. However when I move the application to be a published application I run into an issue where it appears to acquire the scanner but then goes into some sort of loop while trying to scan. Below is the log file from the twain log, on the test machine I cannot move to the new version of the toolkit as of yet so I am unable to test to see if this has been fixed in a later release. I am just hoping this is a setup issue or something else that I can work around without going to the newer version.

It seems to be stuck at this point as it keeps putting this into the log until I finally kill the application;

Hi Josh,

According to the log provided you are using a very old version of the Toolkit.

Please, upgrade it from the download section.
We fixed some issues on Citrix but you have to know that TWAIN protocol is not correctly implemented in Citrix. However, there is some paths available. See: http://www.gdpicture.com/solutions/TWAIN-Scanning.php

Thanks for responding,

I am currently working on getting a test server setup so that I can test out the newer version but haven't been able to get it up and running as of yet. I have the redirection running fine when not using it through a published application it appears to hang and spit out this log line when using a published application and not a published desktop. Unfortunately I am all too aware that TWAIN in Citrix and Terminal Server environments is terrible but I am the unfortunate soul who gets to "try" and make it work! :)

As soon as I have the log file with the new version I will post if it is working or if the issue is still happening.

Have you solved this problem? I have the same issue you reported and we are testing with version is 633.

The application works fine until moved to Citrix. Running on Citrix the application acquires the scanner and begins communication because it opens the scanner UI on the client if

I tested on 3 client computers and each has a different scanner. All three get to the same place and loop.

I've spent days trying every suggestion made on GdPicture's website and searched Citrix forums for hours.

We know the TWAIN works on Citrix clients because on ALL three client computers can scan using 'Microsoft Office Document Scanning'. This is a problem with the GdPicture control or some unpublished implementation.

I am beginning to think the control is Fully compatible with CITRIX systems and Windows Terminal Services* as claimed.

Has anyone got this control to work with:

Server : XenApp Presentation Server 4.0
Client : XenApp Plugins for Hosted Apps 11.0

Any ASAP help appreciated because the project manager will have me looking for a new TWAIN control company by Monday.
