PDF Rotation & Spliting

Hi,

I am using GD Picture Imaging Pro SDK, i need to manipulate (Split, Merge & Rotate) PDF document scanned through GD Picture, I could rotate a page of PDF, as soon as i jumped on another page, the rotated output gets lost, also i cant save save that PDF including that Rotated Page, rather it saves only single page (PDF).

Please advice.

Hi,

Here a solution for your need:

1- For rotation issue:

Keep each each PDF page rotation in memory. (you can catch the Rotation event of the GdViewer control). The GdViewer control doesn't keep page rotation when the page has changed.

2- For saving:

You have to create a new multipage PDF. See this online sample to get some help: gdpicture-activex-code-samples/rotate-pages-pdf-t557.html

Can we split PDF ? I mean i'm talking about Stack and Unstack feature which is supported by PaperPort (the Popular Scanning Software).
They call Spliting and merging PDF a Stack and Unstack.
Are we able to achieve the same through GD Picture Pro SDK ?

Hi Loic,

As you said GD Picture cant retain page rotation, but it is retaining when it is a TIFF file, issue is only with PDF.
Please advice.

Yes it retains for tiff but not PDF.
So you have to implement your own rotation memorization for this format or convert PDF to TIFF before edition.

Hi Loic,

Isnt it possible to provide PDF Rotation from GD Viewer and saving the same page at a time ?
This functionality will make GdPicture Imaging on Top of all.

Kindly do the needful, as we are struggling with this.
