Following on from the previous topic ...

I found one thing, the icon displays ok when displayed from file (DisplayFromFile) but it loses some quality when displayed from the resouce (DisplayFromHIcon) it seems that all the semi transparent pixels become fully transparent.

Hi TOM,

Unfortunately a HBITMAP can't handle Alpha Channel.

A solution consists to export the embed resources to a temporary file to be load using the DisplayFromFile() method.

Thats a shame, is that because the DisplayFromHIcon ends up calling the loading code that DisplayFromHBitmap calls? So there is no way of correcting this? Apart from what you have suggested already?
